[Snack] Korean frozen hot dogs(Corn dogs), how to make Crispy(outside) and soft(inside) without air fryer

Watch how to make 'tasty Korean frozen hot dogs' on YOUTUBE.  Today, we are going to make 'Korean frozen hot dogs(Corn dogs)' Crispy(outside) and soft(inside) without air fryer.  Many Koreans have an air fryer at home. It became famous cooker in Korea. We cook many dishes at home by using cooking oil. So it was the groundbreaking invention for a family cook(usuaslly moms in Korea). However, an air fryer is a little expensive and many Koreans who live alone don't have it. So I use a frying pan which anyone might have.  Anyway, we have frozen hot dogs(corn dogs) in Korea. Actually, hot dogs in Korea means corn dogs in U.S.A. We have many kinds of frozen hot dogs(corn dogs). mozzarella hot dog, potato hot dogs, chicken breast hot dog, etc. However, I think original hot dogs(corn dogs) is the best if you know how to make it crispy(outside) and soft(inside). Today, we are making 애호박전(Aehobak jeon) which is Pan-fried Zucchini.

This is one of my favorite Korean foods. It's soooooooo easy to make.




It's so easy to make but it makes a lot of smoke if you can't control the heat. You have to make this with very low heat.  


I have an interesting experience about this smoke.


When I was in Vietnam, I lived in the apartment and I wanted to treat this to my Vietnamese friends at home. I fried Pan-fried Zucchini at home but I don't know how to make well. So I made a lot of smoke because I fried it with high heat. My neighbors thought there was a fire so guardians came in my house without any notice!!

I said sorry to them. Anyway, my Vietnamese friends liked this food, I think!!

So make this with low heat even though it's very slow :-)


<Ingredients> (2~3 servings)

  • 1 Zucchini
  • Some salt
  • Some flour
  • 1~2 eggs
  • 1~2 red chili peppers(for decoration)
  • Cooking oil.




<Recipe - Short Version>

1. Cut the Zucchini and chop the red chili peppers
2. Beat the eggs.
3. Dip each zucchini in flour.
4. Dip each them in eggs.
5. Heat up a pan with lots of cooking oil.
6. Put them one by one.
7. Put each red chili pepper onto each zucchini one by one.
8. Wait until the eggs are cooked(around 30 seconds), flip it over one by one.
9. Take out the cooked ones from the pan.
10. Do it(4~9) again.
11. Make the dipping sauce
- Dipping sauce : Soy Sauce(3T), Vinegar(1T), the rest of chili pepper or some chili pepper flakes.

1. Cut the Zucchini and chop the red chili peppers.

Trim ends off zucchini ans red chili peppers. Then, cut zucchini and red chili peppers.






2. Beat eggs.

Crack the eggs into a bowl, put some salt and whip them.










3. Dip each zucchini in flour.

Coat them thinly.




4. Dip them in eggs.

Coat thinly.








5. Heat up a pan with lots of cooking oil.

Heat up a pan with very low heat and put lots of cooking oil. You have to put more cooking oil while you are cooking.




6. Put them onto a pan one by one.





7. Put the red chili peppers onto the zucchini one by one.






8. Wait until the eggs are cooked(around 30 seconds), flip them over one by one.

If you need more cooking oil, add it. Also, the red chili pepper could be taken off from the zucchini. When this happens, don't get panic. Just do it like this below!





9. Take out the cooked ones from the pan.





10. Do it(4~9) again.

From 4 to 9, do it one more.




11. Make the dipping sauce

- Dipping sauce : Soy Sauce(3T), Vinegar(1T), the rest of chili pepper or some chili pepper flakes.
