Today we are going to make 'Gimmuchim'

Gim in Korean is Laver in English.

Koreans have lots of dishes with Laver.
Laver is very cheasp and so delicious in Korea.

You can see many kinds of laver in the Korean market.
Most Koreans eat two kinds of laver.

One is seasoned laver with salt and sesame oil.
You just eat seasoned laver with cooked rice.
No need any other things.

The other is dried laver without seasoning.
Dried laver isn't seasoned.
So many Koreans eat it with Kimchi or some soy sauce.
It tastes better.

Today, we use dried laver without seasoning.

Then let's make Gim muchim!


Ingredients(2~3 servings)

20 sheets of Dried gim
1/6 carrot
some green onion 
1 chilli pepper
2 tablespoons thick soysauce
1/2 tablespoon dasida
1&1/2 tablespoons starch syrup
1&1/2 tablespoons sesame oil 
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 tablespoon sesame seed


Direction

Make the seasoning sauce first.

1. Chop carrots, green onions, chilli pepper.
Check out the quantity on Youtube.
(About two tablespoons each)





2. Put thick soy sauce(2 tablespoons), dasida(0.5tablespoon), starch syrup(1.5 tablespoons), sesame oil (1.5 tablespoons), sugar(1 tablespoon), minced garlic(0.5 tablspoon), pepper(1 teaspoon) into one big bowl






3. Mix them well




Now,

4. Toast 20 sheets of dried gim.
Over medium heat.




5. Put the toasted laver into the plastic bag.
And pound it into tiny pieces.





6. Mix it with seasoning sauce!
If you think seasoning sauce is too watery, you can use some of them!





7. Hand-rub it well!





8. Add sesame seed(0.5 tablespoon)
